A pretty, thatched traditional pub and restaurant, the Punchbowl and Ladle has masses of character both inside and out. Parts of the building date back to the 15th century and during the 17th century it was a hostelry for travellers and mariners crossing the river Fal on the King Harry Ferry.

Legend has it that part of the building was employed as a customs house, and the original fireplace in the bar was used to destroy confiscated contraband!

Today it is a warm, welcoming pub with two bars, a large dining area and plenty of cosy nooks and corners for people to sit in comfort.

Popular with locals and visitors alike, the Punchbowl and Ladle serves a selection of real ales from the westcountry¹s leading brewer, St Austell.

There is also an extensive wine list.

Featured in the 'Michelin Guide To Eating Out In Pubs', the Punchbowl and Ladle serves its extensive menu every day throughout the pub from 12 noon to 2.30pm and 6pm to 9pm.

We look forward to welcoming you. Kathy and John Trick, managers.
