We look forward to welcoming you. Gary Swift

The Barley Sheaf in Church Street has a rich history as Liskeard's most bohemian pub and one of Cornwall's leading live music venues. The Barley's unique ambience and off Parade location has made it popular with locals, musicians and students alike.

Since taking over as landlord of the Barley Sheaf in April 2005, seasoned entertainer Gary Swift, aka Swifty, has striven to enhance the live music experience. Swifty's paramour Emma Hill is also an experienced musician, teaching drums and playing with indie rock trio The Hulas.

Gone are the solo artists and backing track duos of the past, replaced with the cream of Cornwall & Devon's live bands, and an impressive roster of international touring bands and chart sensations of yesteryear. The stage has been extended a foot forward and raised six inches, and the Barley boasts a house vocal PA with bass bin and monitors, state of the art LED lighting rig, and the live music being fed to the Beer Garden.

As well as the regular Thursday night entertainment and regular Jam Sessions, the Barley also has some weekend gigs, mainly around Bank Holidays. The regular fixtures remain - free pool table on Monday & Tuesday, League Skittles on Tuesday, League Darts on Friday and League Pool and Quiz Night on Sunday.

The bar is open Monday - Thursday 4.00pm-11.00pm. Friday - Sunday 12.00 noon - 11.00pm (10.30pm on Sundays).

Children are welcome.

We do not serve food.
