This is a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering course which covers the basic principles of food and hygiene at home or in the workplace.

Course runs over one day – 9.00am to 5.00pm.

Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for all food handlers who are legally required to be trained/instructed in food hygiene matters. This includes ancillary or non-food handlers, bar staff, waiting staff and kitchen porters.
What does the course include?
- Basic principles of Food Hygiene.
- Food Microbiology.
- Main methods of the transmission of food poisoning and food borne disease.
- Contamination and prevention.
- Awareness of good practices and personal responsibilities.
What qualification do I get?
Assessment is via a multiple-choice examination. On successful completion you will be issued the CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.
